self-portrait as a chamber pot
glazed ceramic, ceramic decal, gold lustre, mdf, plywood, hardware
These pots take inspiration from chamber pots produced in the early 19th century that contained Napoleon figurines. Mounted on shelves divided by partitions like the ones dividing urinals, the historical form of pot as political satire is here reinterpreted as pot as vessel for the erotics of humiliation, exhibition, voyeurism and the theater of sexual anxiety that is the men's bathroom.
